(Friday 26th August 2016)
It has been noted that scaledown did not occur this year in May. Behold! The late May scaledown event complete with artists dancing around the August May pole in no particular order:
MARK A WATERFIELD - A TRIBUTE - A tribute to the man, booked for scaledown who tragically died last week. Mr Waterfield would have played old union songs. By way of tribute and an honour to him, scaledown host Mark Braby will sing those songs.
HAND OF STABS - Hand of Stabs are a three man collective who’s work draws inspiration from their exploration of local, often forbidden, landmarks. They create improvised sound pieces which can be simultaneously uplifting, difficult and intense using both traditional and homebuilt instruments.
THE SILLY SEASON - Improvised light news stories from Jude Cowan Montague, joined by Mark Braby on guitar. Today they are the Silly Season. Light frolics through jungles, housing estates and laboratories in music.
BONESETTER RHYS DAVIES - Digging the trench of poetical melodic protest acoustic post punk.
JOHN WHITMORE - A gentleman, a poet, an amazing 'tache. Mr Whitmore will be present as a gentleman reading his poetry whilst twiddling his moustache.
ATSUKO KAMURA - - Experimental and moving vocals and electronics from the beautiful voice and excellent musicianship of Atsuko Kamura, who makes a welcome return to scaledown.
As ever, it is FREE! Come and hear/see the scaled down performances. DOORS OPEN AT 7.30 PM of the clock. FIFTEEN MINUTES PER ACT! Come along to:
