Those who appeared at the fifty eighth Scaledown (in no particular order):
Original Beekeepers – It has been many a year since this quirky combo delighted the scaledown audience. Prepare to be refreshed by their witty ditties and their eccentric stage antics.
Blowpipes - Trombones galore with this impressive instrumental trio who blow improvisations and composition and rasp all kinds from traditional and classical to jazz.
The Fujii - A most welcome return for this charming duo comprising former welder & self-taught bottleneck guitarist Koichi "Fuji" Fujishima and master of the pocket trumpet Paul Shearsmith.
Verse Chorus Verse - The atmospherically brittle songwriting of Julian Simons is propelled into being through the medium of Verse Chorus Verse which involves himself and Hannah Higham playing their instruments in a satisfyingly delightful manner.
Same Actor - Imagine a sitar inserted into a laptop and manipulated in ways it was never meant to be and you're getting close to what Same Actor acheives with his sitar and laptop.
Aquilina - Whether performing solo, or as a four piece, Aquilina (based around Brixton bred Joseph Aquilina) play powerful, full-on rock using only acoustic instruments. With band members coming from Egypt, Chile, Malta and good ol' Blighty, they deliver a unique and exotic sound that stays with you long after they've finished playing...
